A new and safe place to call home has now become a reality for people in need.

Friday marked the grand opening of “Celilia’s Place” in Central Park.

The project is the mission of person-centered housing options, which works to reduce homelessness and rebuild lives.

“If you look at the homelessness in our community over the past few years, it’s grown tremendously,” said Charlie Albanese, CEO and co-founder of Cecillia’s Place. “The big challenge for us in providing services for homeless folks is to find adequate housing. Although this is a small piece, it’s only 15 units; it’s going to contribute to offering more folks who are experiencing homelessness.”

Cecillia’s Place is housed in the Historic Polvino building on Central Park.
