What we do

Homelessness is a complex, life threatening condition

PCHO is a not-for-profit organization that adopts the Housing First model, which holds that individuals who are homeless must first gain access to permanent, safe places to live before stabilizing their lifestyles, improving their health, addressing harmful behaviors, and finding and maintaining jobs.

Housing first is not housing only

We adopt methods and provide connections to relief that keep poor individuals and families housed; provide sustainable housing options for those experiencing homelessness; and connect chronically homeless individuals to services and supports so that, when they are ready, they can be housed. We meet people where they are—in tents, on the streets, or under bridges—to offer housing, compassionate support, and the dignity of choice.

Throughout this continuum of housing, PCHO provides connections to food, clothing, healthcare, social services and public supports.
